FAQ

Tese are the questions that people usually ask me. If your question is not in the list please contact us using our contact form.

Directions or How to Find Us:
----------------------------------------
Our address is 27 Oliver Road Leyton E10 5LD London. Nearest Tube station is Leyton on the Central Line -East. It takes about 10-12 min walk to our door. The door is blue and we are right opposite a chicken shop ingenuously named Lospuntino Delicioso.

How much does it cost:

Storage while you riding:
----------------------------------
Can we leave our bikes, luggage at your place while riding?
Yes you can leave them in my garage.

Any nice roads where you live?:
-------------------------------------------
Plenty. If you are not fan of traffic there are numerous traffic free biking roads starting 5 min from my door. Most notable is National cycling network 1 which can take you all the way to Greenwich or even the Thames barrier and beyond or you can choose to follow it north along some nice canals and tow paths. I will provide you with local cycling maps. You can also visit our forum for more ideas about where to ride.

What are the Tandem Specs?:
------------------------------------------
Model: Dawes Street2Street
Frame: Reynolds butted steel 531 - makes for a very comfortable ride.
Gears: Shimano Deore - 21 gears
Brakes - Shimano Cantelever brakes - did the job on a wet descents two up in the Pyrenees
Seats: Selle touring seats
Tyres - Continental touring tyres (700cc) and fairly thin
Pedals - normal type (not clip on)
Bars - diamond shape?
3 water bottle carriers.
Lights available on demand

Would it fit you?:
------------------------
The seats height is very adjustable and I will say it will fit people between 5.2 and 6.3. If you are having doubts please send the measurements of your inside legs (captain and stroker) and I will do the maths.

What is it like to ride?:
-------------------------------
Absolute pleasure - it feels like a Swiss toy. It is comfy, will take towpaths in its stride and can even tackle dry shingle or dirt roads. It can go pretty fast. Our record on level ground is about 40kph and we are not much of a cyclists.

Riding Expirience:
------------------------
One of us has never been on a bike (years since last time), would this be a big problem ?

Not much of a problem. Actually that was one of the main reasons while we picked a tandem for our Spain trip – Bobi only learned to ride about a year ago and is still not very confident. However it helps if the stronger (physically) half is the more experienced and riding in the captain position (front) to start with.bsolute pleasure - it feels like a Swiss toy. It is comfy, will take towpaths in its stride and can even tackle dry shingle or dirt roads. It can go pretty fast. Our record on level ground is about 40kph and we are not much of a cyclists.

Insurance while riding:
-------------------------------
Are there any bike insurance companies that you would recommend?
Well, yes try Cycleguard UK. You can find their site here.
